What makes SVAD different from other programs?

A. Our classes are designed to advance the archer with a consistent group of their peers. We emphasize team building in an individualized sport. We also offer guidelines on how to enter the world of competitive archery under the sanctions of the National Field Archery Association and USA Archery. At SVAD, we are inclusive of ability levels and shooting styles.

What is a JOAD?

A. Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) is a program designed by USA Archery to encourage youths to pursue competitive archery. There are many different JOADs in the nation, all geared toward youths. Archers who reach certain benchmarks can earn pins at our Pin Shoots. JOAD follows the National Training System (NTS), which is a method of shooting archery in the most biomechanically efficient way.

How much does it cost?

A. Our JOAD lessons cost $50 per one-hour class.

Do I need my own gear?

A. Basic equipment will be lent to archers without their own.

What is the class size for JOAD?

A. Depending on coaching availability, we have a maximum class size of 5-8 archers.

What if a JOAD class is full?

A. You will be added to a waiting list and we will contact you if there is availability.
